What's Happening at TES

As of January 27, 10% of US death certificates listed FLU or pneumonia as cause of death.  Fly is expected to last until May.  CDC estimates 700,000 people or more will be hospitalized due to flu.  There are 84 kids that died of flu this flu season.  Twenty two just died at an alarming rate between February 4-10, 2018.

On the good side, flu is still PREVENTABLE:

1.  Get vaccinated.  It's not too late! The flu vaccine lessens severity and shortens days or flu symptoms.

2.  When sick, stay home from work or school.  Stay away from public places.

3.  Keep washing hands frequently since flu virus lives 24 hours on surfaces like phone, door knobs, tables, etc.

4.  Improve your immune system by having enough rest and sleep.  Drink lots of water and take multi vitamins and vitamin C.

WARNING:  Flu is in the air we breathe.  We know coughing and sneezing can spread the disease due to airborne transmission.  Now CDC is saying that mere breathing, an exhalation from a sick person can get you sick with the flu.

Stay healthy!

Beginning this school year, our policy regarding parents on campus will change.  ALL parents will need to check in with the front office on a designated computer - this computer will give you a visitor badge with your name on it.  In order to volunteer or have lunch with your student or be on the campus AT ANY TIME, you will be required to go through a Megan's Law background check and have a TB clearance on file.  Forms are available in the front office or on the school website www.tes.tvusd.k12.ca.us

If you have any further questions, please contact a member of school administration.
